Field at a Glance
Dwell among the Canadian Rockies
with a trip to the picturesque town of Field. Within the shadows of towering mountains
and surrounded by emerald green ponds and rivers, visitors here can truly be in
awe of Mother Nature. Field is located within and provides access to Yoho
National Park, a park that is void of the crowds of Banff
but offers just as many activities. The park, designated a Unesco World Heritage
Site in 1984, contains one of the most geologically significant sites in the world,
the Burgess
Shale. Other exciting attractions in Yoho include the powerful Takakkaw
Waterfall, which cascades over 236 m (774 ft) into the Yoho River, and the
Spiral
Tunnels viewing area, which offers a panoramic vista of the amazing mountains.
Visitors to Field often find themselves in rustic, secluded lodges that offer
easy access to ample boating, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking
opportunities.
